Meet The Team
Lisa Hoffman
Lisa Hoffman is a knitwear designer and knitting teacher. Lisa’s designs have been published in Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, and knit.wear magazines. A collaboration with her cousin, Alice Hoffman, in Faerie Magazine led to a book, Faerie Knitting, a collection of stories and knitting patterns.
Mari Tobita
Mari moved to New York City from Japan in 1996a to continue her work as a puppet designer/builder. In 2002. Her designs have appeared in magazines such as Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Noro Magazine, Brooklyn Tweed Wool People, as well as in several knitting books.
Trudie Joseph
A published knitwear designer, Trudie’s Corolla Cropped Cardigan was featured in Vogue Knitting, Winter 19/20 with upcoming designs in major publications slated for the coming year.Trudie Joseph is an avid knitter who enjoys knitting designs with intricate detail and classic garment construction.
Tracey Rivers
Tracey will be co-moderating the group on Ravelry as well as on this forum. Tracey Rivers is a wife, mom, certified Knitting and Crochet Instructor by the Craft Yarn Council of America, educator, (Science and Mathematics), former Principal Dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Broadway Performer
Because we are making a coat, we are looking for a crisp fabric with a firm hand. The Gold Merino VIII using a size 8 (5 mm) needle is a beautiful fabric that is crisp with a firm hand. The stitch definition is also beautiful. The yarn is also smooth with a luxurious feel. On both swatches, the stitch definition is great. On the size 7 (4.5 mm) needle the fabric is crisp and the hand is firm. On the size 8 (5 mm) needle the fabric made with the Merino VI has more stretch.
