That advice has held me in good stead for over 30 years as a teacher, knitwear designer, and author. I invite you to sign up for the Winter Design Challenge.  In this challenge, I want to highlight both accessory & garment designers, allowing them to shine in their strengths, especially when I turn up the heat this winter. That is why I’ve created two categories for designers to choose from. See the details for each category below:

Accessories

6 Accessories

Participants must use the patterns in KDW and Duets to design and knit 6 different accessories that can be chosen from the options listed below:

• Capelet
• Cowl
• Gloves (fingered or fingerless)
• Hat
• Scarf
• Shawl
• Socks

The 2 winners of this category will receive $1,000.

Garment & Accessories

1 Garment & 5 Accessories Participants must use the patterns in KDW and Duets to design and knit 5 different accessories from the options below. The garment must be a pullover.

• Capelet
• Cowl
• Gloves (fingered or fingerless)
• Hat
• Scarf
• Shawl
• Socks

The winner of this category will receive $1,500.
